Lithuanian manufacturers appealed to RSN

The Lithuanian Confederation of Manufacturers (Lietuvos pramonininku konfederacija – LPK) has sent an appeal to the Rosselkhoznadzor (RSN). The appeal is a response of Vilnius to the ban RSN imposed on the import of animal food and food additives from Lithuania. ‘Local feed producers export their products to many countries around the world and that Russia supplies the highest quality pet food’, states the document.

The ban was caused by results of an inspection that was carried out remotely due to the existing quarantine restrictions. LPK is confident that all the issues of misunderstanding between Lithuanian manufacturers and the regulatory authorities of the Russian Federation can be resolved if the State Food and Veterinary Service of the Republic of Lithuania (GSPV) and Rosselkhoznadzor work together on them. At the same time, the GSPV is preparing a package of documents that should dispel doubts about the quality checks carried out in Lithuania.

A similar letter was written to RSN by the Ministry of Agriculture of Lithuania.
