In November representatives of the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance (Rosselkhoznadzor) the Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality of the Netherlands organized the inspection of pet food and food supplements manufacturers located in the Netherlands. Experts revised documents and took samples subject to the rules and regulations of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) and the Russian Federation, they also visited a few plants and inspected the production process.
According to the results of the weeklong inspection Rosselkhoznadzor will make conclusions about the effectiveness of the safety guarantees the veterinary service of the Netherlands had provided earlier. RSN is going to assess also the measures for avoidance of non-registered GM-components in the products taken by the veterinary service of the Netherlands. According to an unofficial source, while visiting factories RSN representatives were very much focused on pet food component transparency and traceability.
