The State Duma to ban the seizure of pets for debts

The State Duma adopted in the third reading a law, which prohibits the seizure of domestic animals from debtors according to enforcement documents. The necessary amendments are made to the Civil Procedure Code.

Currently, the relevant article contains a list of farm animals that cannot be foreclosed on under enforcement documents, i.e. working cattle, deer, rabbits, poultry, bees. The new law adds pets to this list: cats, dogs and others that are not used for business activities.
