The Association of Internet Commerce Companies calculated the volume of e-commerce. Based on the results of the past year, the volume of online sales grew by 28% compared to 2022. The share of “digital” purchases in the total volume of retail sales, which, according to forecasts, should reach €466.7 billion, will constitute 13.8%, against 11.6% in 2022.

Experts believe that investments by online sellers in the development of infrastructure influence the improvement of service quality and the expansion of the product range.

Meanwhile, the average order price has changed differently in various categories. In particular, the average check for pet products decreased by 10%.

Previously, Data Insight published a report on e-commerce titled “Marketplaces in the eCommerce Market.” According to the data published by researchers, marketplaces have become the fastest-growing channel of online sales: 64% of entrepreneurs increased their turnover on platforms over the past year.

Among the leading categories by the annual growth index of sales volume through marketplaces are home improvement products (0.99 on a scale from -2 to 2), home and garden products (0.93), and books and discs (0.91).

46% of sellers report an increase in sales in their own online stores, and another quarter believes that sales in this channel have not changed over the year.

It was also found that the share of sellers using social networks for e-commerce of goods is decreasing – from 34% in 2020 to 24% in 2022. The share of VKontakte and Telegram has increased to 71% and 30%, respectively. Sellers are exploring new platforms – the share of Yandex.Zen and TikTok amounted to 10% and 9%, respectively.
