On December 25th, the Russian Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance published a list of enterprises from France and Italy for which certification has been extended until April 1, 2024, inclusive, and the supply of pet foods to the Russian Federation is authorized.
Among the companies are Nestlè Purina PetCare France and Nestlè Italiana SPA, Diusapet, SOPRAL, LA NORMANDISE, Sanypet, VALPET, United Petfood Italia, MORANDO, and others.
In June 2023, the Italian Ambassador Giorgio Starace discussed with Sergey Dankvert the possibility of returning Italian-produced dog and cat foods to the Russian market. The diplomat reported that “Italian companies from the pet food sector want to return to the Russian market and are ready to confirm their readiness to comply with Russian legislation during inspections.”
