Moscow International Congress of Veterinarians is cancelled

Russian Association of Practicing Veterinarians has to cancel the 28th Moscow International Veterinary Congress. The reason is the ongoing struggle to prevent the spread of coronavirus COVID-19.

The President of the Russian Association of Practicing Veterinarians Sergey Sereda and The President of the Congress Alexander Tkachev-Kuzmin commented on behalf of the organizers: “We care deeply about the lives and health of our colleagues. It goes without saying that a public event of such scale cannot take place at the moment. The decision was also justified by the latest recommendations of WHO, WSAVA, FECAVA, and OIE.

It took colossal effort and investment to organize the event. Leading international experts were invited to present. Most of them are now isolated under quarantine in their home countries. This includes 17 foreign delegations that registered to participate in the Congress.

It is hardly necessary to say that the situation is dreadfully disappointing to both the hosts and the potential attendees. The Association would like to express its deepest regrets about the situation. We truly hope to see veterinary community members at the future Congress. The date and the venue of the event will be announced later”.
