The Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance (Rosselkhoznadzor, RSN) reported the discovery of undeclared and unregistered GM components in Pro Plan pet food manufactured by Nestlè Italiana SPA for the dog and cate food market in Russia. Due to this, the regulator is implementing enhanced laboratory control over product deliveries from this manufacturer.
Additionally, the RSN has imposed an import ban on feeds and feed additives from the German company Bioceval GmbH. Products shipped up to and including February 12, 2023, are accepted in regular mode.
RSN also updated the status of several suppliers in the Registry of Third-Country Enterprises to “enhanced laboratory control”. The following products in the Russia dog and cat food market will undergo meticulous checks:
— GRANDORF, Carnica dog and cat food brands manufactured by United Petfood (France);
— N&D, Matisse, Cibau cat and dog foods produced by Farmina Pet Foods (Italy);
— Primordial, manufactured by Mister Pet SPA (Italy);
— cat foods Monge Cat BWild LOW GRAIN, Monge VetSolution, and Monge Cat Grill Pouch for kittens, and dog foods Monge MY LORD and Monge Dog PFB Speciality Line (Italy);
— products of all brands and lines from the company Diusapet, the import of which resumed from February 13.
