According to Euromonitor International latest report, the Russian pet food market was estimated at Rub 212 bln (Euro 2,9 bln) with the volume of 645.000 tonnes. In terms of value the market went up 10,5% vs 2018.
The top-five leading suppliers are Mars Inc., Nestlé SA, Monge & C SpA, Alpintech and Colgate-Palmolive Co. And the most popular brands are Whiskas, Kitekat, Felix, Friskies и Chappi.
Euromonitor Intl. forecasts pet food retail sales to increase up to Rub 232 bln in 2020 and the volume growth up to 657.000 tonnes by the end of the year. The forecast is made before COVID-19 pandemic and does not consider the corona virus impact on the pet industry.
