As of June 17, 2021, the Rosselkhoznadzor (the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance) applies temporary restrictions on pet food and food supplements import to Russia from the British company Equine America UK Ltd and the Canadian company Pancosma Canada Inc.
The decision was made due to undeclared and unregistered GM-components found in the products of these enterprises and their share exceeded the permissible level.
In addition, the Rosselkhoznadzor appealed to the supervisory authorities of the United Kingdom and Canada with a request to suspend the supply of all animal food and food additives supplied to the Russian Federation, including feed of plant origin, chemical and microbiological synthesis and pet products.
As of June 21, 2021, the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance (RSN) banned supplies of pet food and food supplements to Russia from all enterprises of the Czech Republic.
This decision was made by the Regulator on the basis of unsatisfactory results of the inspection of Czech enterprises that have the right to supply feed and feed additives to Russia.
By the same reason supplies of animal food and supplements from Latvia and Poland were suspended starting from June, 24, and June, 25, 2021, accordingly.
